America's first touring electronic dance music fest, the Identity Festival, officially launched in Noblesville, Indiana, on Thursday, and the crowd was treated to sets from the likes of Kaskade, Steve Lawler, Chuckie, Steve Aoki, LA Riots, Manufactured Superstars and many more.
And from the looks of it, the fans that came out to the Verizon Wireless Music Center were giving the artists as much energy as they were receiving.
"INDIANAPOLIS ravin it up in the cornfields, awesome...& thank you!" tweeted Kaskade.
"indiana i love u.... thanks for the fun first show for @identityfest my first time with my live show!" Steve Aoki wrote.
Producer Rusko tweeted: "Indiana was crazee fun. Tons of bouncing and singing along as the sun went down. Maximum energy!!"
And Chuckie sent a message to MTV News saying, "Indiana was epic! Was the perfect start to this crazy ride!! Lesss goooo!"
N.E.R.D.'s Chad Hugo, Afrojack, Nervo, Avicii, Skrillex, Pete Tong, Nero and Britney's Femme Fatale Tour openers Jessie and the Boy Toys are also among the featured artists that will be performing at dates on the tour.
In addition to getting big names in the EDM world out to previously underserved markets, the festival also offers the prospect of some of the scene's stars using the tour as a chance to collaborate with each other. Clearly, Steve Aoki already has big plans for the road.
"On the bus, I'm outfitting it with my own studio," he recently told MTV News. "I'm rigging my monitors. So it's gonna be a productive month."
And the other creative minds on this tour all seem to be in tune.
"Something tells me the Steve Aoki bus is gonna be a fun bus to be on!" Liv Nervo told MTV News. "And the Manufactured Superstars! We'll definitely be crashing their buses."
"I'm really looking forward to hanging out with these guys," Kaskade said. "Everyone from Skrillex to Rusko to Avicii. I've never really hung out with Avicii.
"I mean we got some downtime," Kaskade continued. "It'll be like, knock knock. 'Hey Avicii, I got this melody. Let's work something out.' So hopefully some cool stuff will come of it."
The Identity Festival moves onto the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan, on Friday (August 12). For a complete line-up, and list of tourdates head to IDfestival.com.
